Q: What age do you train?
A: We will train all ages, starting at age 7
Q: Do you have classes for beginners?
A: We hold an open forum training. Beginning boxers will work 1 on 1 with a trainer to learn Boxing 101 (Stance, steps, punch, breathing, how to wrap hands, etc.)
All kids class Saturdays 9am-10am; This class is tailored more for the younger kids. Yes, Adults may train at this time.
Q: I do not want to compete- Can I still join your Gym?
A: Absolutely. Some of our members join just to have an exciting way to work out, or to release frustration.
Q: What do I need to box?
A: Wraps (can be purchased at the gym). a USA Boxing Membership / license.
We recommend getting a mouth guard. The gym has limited gloves, helmets, and protection to use.
Q: How do Classes work?
A: Classes are held as an open forum.
All Levels of Boxing are in the same training sessions. Our Trainers are aware of all levels in the training sessions and work accordingly.
Q: What if I can’t get there at 5:30pm every night?
A: No worries. With the open forum training, come when you are able and stay only as long as you can. Some can only handle 30 minutes at a time, while others are there the whole 2 hours.
Q: I'm out of shape- can I still join?
A: Absolutely! People of all abilities and physical abilities are in the mix.
Q: What should I wear to box?
A: Wear comfortable clothing- Gym attire. Sweats, shorts, sneakers, wrestling shoes, t-shirt or tank. Whatever you are comfortable and will allow you to move freely, unrestricted.
Q: Where do I park?
A: There are parking spaces and lot in and near the town hall in downtown. We are a short 4 driveway walk from the corner lot. (please note: we are considered a downtown business, therefore your are allowed to park in the lots). Gym driveway is for residents, trainers only.
Q: Do I need to stay while my child is training?
A: As long as there is a trainer in the gym, you are welcome to drop off and pick up. Please remember to adhere to the pick up / end of class time
Q: How do I go about joining the Gym?
A: reach out to us at info@jassboxing.org, to set up a time.
You can ask any and all questions you may have, sign a release, and instructed to purchase a License. Someone will explain how the gym operates and what to expect.
Q: How do I pay for my membership?
A: We take credit cards, checks, Cash. We also have a link for PayPal on our website. (Please note: there is a $3.00 convenience fee for online and Credit Card payments)
Checks returned due to insufficient funds will incur an additional $50 fee
We do not offer Autopay. Membership is due 1st of the month.
Q. What type of USA Boxing Membership do I need to get?
A. If you wish to spar at the gym, you will need to purchase an athlete License.
If you are here for no contact, just to work out- including the downstairs weights / cardio- you can purchase a Fitness Membership
Q. Where do I purchase the USA Boxing License?
A. Visit usaboxing.org.
Q. I purchased an athlete membership on USA Boxing's website. Am I good to spar?
A. Almost. You will need to upload a copy of your birth Certificate, and a sports physical (USA Boxing medical form located online) signed by a physician.
Q: Do you ever cancel training?
A: In the event we need to cancel training, including in event of an emergency, or inclement weather, or conflict of scheduling- We try and post on Jass Boxing Facebook page (@jassboxinggym) and instagram @jass.boxing as soon as we make an decisions, as well as a note on the gym door.
Q: What other amenities do you offer?
A: We have a treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical, Rower, large free weight room, and shower.
